Beautiful bed and breakfast! Setting is wonderful and the owner is a true charm! It is in downtown historic Madison In and the home is just beautiful with all the beauty of old history and the convenience of modern day. Take time to check in I promise you will love it!

The room was nice and clean. Breakfast both mornings was great. The table was set up really nice. I would definitely stay there again!

My wife won an overnight stay from the Visit Indiana web site. The Inn had 3 rooms; each with its own bathroom. One room even had a claw-foot tub. The Inn was old, yet modern. It had furniture and papered walls that gave it its appeal. Breakfast was a candlelight meal with fresh fruit, homemade macadamia nut French toast, bacon, freshly made pastry, juice, and coffee. The host was very pleasant and accommodating. We will go back again. Madison is full of quaint antique/collectable shops; and the river walk is beautifully landscaped. A jet boat ride is available for those a bit daring. The area has several festivals and is visited a few times a year by an old -fashioned riverboat

This vintage B & B is located in the charming town of Madison, Indiana. Our breaths were taking away as we drove down the Main Street. It was like a step back in time. A warm greeting from the host awaited us as we entered the beautiful Inn. We chose Glenn Ellyn room. It had a cute little balcony with soft cushioned patio furniture. The balcony was a little noisy due to road construction and some road sounds but the room was quiet. The room was nicely furnished with a small, well thought out bath. Loved the fabulous breakfast we lucked out and peaches were in season. They were mixed with several other fruit and served in a compote along with fresh homemade blueberry muffins. Main course was fancy pancakes with bacon. We enjoyed the location for exploring the historic streets.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Madison and the Iron Gate Inn was a great place to stay. The host greeted us in the morning with her featured macadamia nut French toast, preceded by a large serving of fresh fruit. The location is on Main Street, close to the main town, but not too congested. A great place to overnight in Madison!

My husband and I made our first visit to the quaint town of Madison for an overnight getaway. We stayed at the Iron Gate and were thrilled with the choice. We have stayed in 2 other B & B's in other areas, and this one tops our list. The decor was wonderful without being overwhelming and the owner made us feel completely at home. Every need was taken care of and the breakfast was beautiful and tasty. This home has beautiful architecture (Federalist style built in 1840) and everything was expertly redone--elegant with all the modern conveniences. We stayed in the St. Charles room with a very comfortable king size 4 poster bed.

This was a great experience staying in Madison. The owner was an awesome hostess and helped us find some local treasures in this river town. The decor was tasteful and the breakfast both days was excellent. There was a small area area upstairs outside the 3 rooms where you could grab a water from a small fridge or use the Kuerig -setup with coffee or tea.

What a delightful and much needed getaway. We deeply enjoyed our stay, especially in the beautifully decorated Secret Garden room. Your hospitality was amazing, especially noting your growing ties to the community. We love what you've done and where you are taking the place. We will be back!!! This was truly charming. Wonderful place and stay! We loved the warm welcome, all the dining and activity suggestions, and the small touches in the room. The towels are also amazingly soft. Perfect place for a little weekend get way. We hope to be back soon!

Another wonderful stay at the Iron Gate!  We stayed last year and were fortunate enough to the be the first guests introduced to the new owners - Chad & Amy.  Well they made a fantastic choice in choosing the hosting couple Maria & Gordie!  What a wonderful couple!  We were also blessed with other wonderful guests, all their first stays here.  Breakfasts were very enjoyable.  We shall return and enjoy more time in the beautiful B&B and town.

We had a great time. A much needed relaxing trip. We received such a warm welcoming. It felt like being welcomed into someone's home and not a business. Downtown Madison was so enjoyable, loved being able to walk almost everywhere. All the locals we met were just as friendly. We will definitely be back to visit. My room Glen Ellyn was beautiful with all the lovely touches of an era gone by. Best of all was the porch attached where I shared with my friend Peg, good friends, wine, and such as a place as this. Maria and Gordie are really nice hosts and made my stay even more relaxing.

What a great little getaway. The garden room was perfect. Dinner at Rivertown Grill was excellent. Breakfast was delicious. However, my favorite part was visiting with Gordie and Maria. Such a fun couple to visit with! Hope to be back in the spring to see the flower garden in bloom.

My sister and I found this place spur of the moment after our flight to Las Vegas was cancelled through the airline the day we were due to fly out. But we consider ourselves luck because Iron Gate had one room still available so we traveled here to Madison and we've had a lovely time in this quaint little town! Melody goes above and beyond to accommodate she's so sweet. I'd love to return.
